Karl-Anthony Towns might be the ideal player especially when accounting for the fact he is still only 23 years old, discussed so far.
He’s going to average at least 21 points and 12 rebounds for the third time in four seasons. Just 15 players throughout NBA history have done. Insert a triple into the mixture, and it’s four total for every other player present and past and Towns with three seasons. This isn’t just quantity splashing, either. Since the beginning of 2016-17, his 39.8 three-point percent is 14th greatest among gamers with 300-plus makes.
Coming from the fracture, Towns has launched himself into the stratosphere. Over his past seven states, he has averaged 35.1 points, 14.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists while shooting 59.7 percent from the field and 48.9 percent from range.
“It’s just joking,” Timberwolves newcomer Josh Okogie said, per The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski. “We are all witnessing it.”
But Minnesota’s challenge is finding somebody that will innovate alongside Towns. Andrew Wiggins is a volume scorer. The remainder of the roster is comprised of aging vets or youngsters who figure to top out as role players.
Unless this front office experts a selection, it is tough to tell just how Towns will find.
